Here are my three good things for today:
1. As an experiment, I got up early and went to the gym before work. I discovered that I like this much better than going after work, and everything was great until fifteen minutes into my elliptical routine when That Time of the Month snuck up and sucker-punched me.* It hurt too much to keep running, so I had to quit. But I still like the early-morning workout thing. I think I'm going to keep doing it.
2. Katie Lewis found a ukulele at Gymboree, and they let her have it for free! We're going to form a ukulele band and play on the subways. I just decided this now. I hope she's okay with it.
3. I washed my hair twice today. Once this morning after the gym, and again this evening because I'm meeting some important people at the office tomorrow and I want it to be squeaky-clean. I've heard that cleanliness is next to Godliness. Let's just say that I'm trying to get really close.
What are your three good things?
*It does not give me a nice warning to let me know it's approaching. There is no transition, no gentle knock at the door, no friendly "Hello? I just want to let you know that I'm going to be visiting for the next seven days, and I'll probably start moving my stuff in within the next few hours." It's more like nothing, nothing, nothing, then "HEY I'M HERE LET'S GET THIS SHOW ON THE ROAD." How gauche.
1. I LOVE okra. Love, love, love okra. And I ate some for dinner. I think it's a born in the south thing.
ReplyDelete2. Heavy whipping cream does not make good pancakes. While this seems like a bad thing, and was certainly a disappointment (they turn out very dry), it is really a good thing, because now I have to stick to buttermilk, which is low-fat, thus salvaging my waistline.
3. Goat cheese. Enough said.
can't wait for the debut of the ukulele band..
ReplyDeleteBritin: I love when you talk about food. You always make it sound so delicious. Good that you're salvaging your waistline; don't let those jazzercise classes go to waste!
ReplyDeleteMom: We are going to be the best two-person ukulele band the NYC subway system has ever seen.
Food is delicious! Today I got more okra, a new smoked pepper goat cheese, new potatoes, onion, rolls, whole grain bread and salsa from our Farmer's Market. I'm in heaven!
